Here goes nothing...
We are scheduled to leave "the Sham" this Friday, August 27 around 3:00am. What an incredible summer we have had! Six weeks in South Africa experiencing the trip of a lifetime. World Cup, Kruger National Park, the Big 5 (and then some), the entire Van Der Linde family, Chris and Welma, and the beauty of the people and culture of South Africa. In one word--lifechangingamazinglyawesomeholycow! We then returned to Demorest, GA where we began the cathartic process of culling many of our possessions. It's not often in one's life where you get to go through everything you own, and fortunately, we had the time and space to do so. After hosting an indoor yard sale for friends and family and making several trips to the Cornelia Library, Circle of Hope Thrift Store, the Sharing and Caring Place, Habitat for Humanity, the Dump, and our storage unit, we are in the final stages of having everything we own in a 10' X 10' space. Difficult process and a great deal of work, but definitely worth it! Simultaneously, we have tried to make time to see those about whom we care a great deal and probably won't see for the next little while. We are so lucky to have such an amazing family and absolutely fabulous friends!
